Now an annual pilgrimage for more than 1,500 buyers from around the world, the LA Screenings provide an opportunity for major television studios and growing indies to screen their newest shows to a growing list of international and online channels. Screening for the first time in 2016, eOne Entertainment engaged 2Heads to deliver a high profile event to promote two new shows, Conviction starring Hayley Atwell and Designated Survivor, starring Kiefer Sutherland.
With the Harmony Gold Theater in Hollywood as the venue, 2Heads designed and delivered an all-encompassing eOne branded experience for prospective buyers, branding the full exterior of the three storey building with guests immersed within a custom light show once inside. Red carpets, champagne and canapés also welcomed guests before they were escorted through to watch the two screenings, followed by panel Q&A sessions featuring stars and producers of both shows. Overflow screening areas ensured that all buyers could be accommodated and a VIP lounge was used to host key prospects, with both spaces able to access live streams from the main room.
More than 500 invited guests were welcomed to the event and extensive press coverage helped create a wider buzz. As a result of the LA Screenings showcase and subsequent sales negotiations, it was later announced by Hollywood Reporter that Netflix bought the rights to Designated Survivor in a worldwide streaming-rights deal.
