2Heads brings the party to Anime Expo with SEGA
Where Fandom Comes to Play
Anime Expo is the largest celebration of Japanese pop culture in North America and for the third year running, SEGA partnered with us to create an unforgettable presence at the heart of it all. What started as a bold activation has evolved into a multi-day, multi-location fan experience that gets bigger and better each year. In 2025, we pushed the boundaries once again, extending the experience beyond the show floor with immersive in-booth content, off-site activations, and moments designed to surprise and delight fans at every turn.

The Brief
The Assignment
For Anime Expo 2025, SEGA wanted to level up their presence and make a bigger impact than ever before. With a growing fanbase and new titles to showcase, the goal was twofold: increase visibility and footfall across the event and drive merchandise sales through exclusive drops. They challenged us to create an experience that would energise fans, cut through the noise of a crowded expo, and turn SEGA’s booth and brand into a must-visit destination both inside and outside the convention centre.

The Challenge
The Quests
With SEGA setting new expectations for Anime Expo 2025, 2Heads faced the challenge of delivering an experience that was truly groundbreaking for the event. The goal wasn’t just to create a memorable activation within the convention center, it was to extend SEGA’s presence beyond the expo floor, engaging fans in unexpected ways around Little Tokyo and across the city. This meant designing experiences that were seamless, shareable, and capable of capturing attention in multiple environments, all while staying true to SEGA’s brand and maximizing fan engagement.
