Walking the South Downs: Teamwork, Challenges, and Giving Back
2Heads Hike the South Downs for Charity
Our 2Heads team set off from Kingston, near Lewes, at the crack of dawn, ready for a two-day adventure along the South Downs. Day 1 took us on a 21km hike across rolling hills, with cows and sheep grazing along the way. We paused for a coffee break at a charming café before continuing to our campsite. The evening was a highlight, gathering around the campfire, sharing stories, and reflecting on the day’s journey brought the team closer together.
Day 2 began at dawn once again, as we tackled the next leg of the walk. Our route led us to the iconic Seven Sisters cliffs, where we hiked up and down the breathtaking chalk cliffs before finally arriving in Eastbourne, tired but triumphant.
We set out to support three incredible charities Dan’s Fund for Burns, Macmillan Cancer Support, and Bourne End Junior Sports Club each making a meaningful difference in their communities. For us, this walk wasn’t just a challenge; it was a chance to give back, push our limits, and celebrate teamwork and determination while contributing to causes that truly inspire us.
By the end of the day, we had walked 45km, raised over £21,000, and shared countless moments of encouragement and celebration. Beyond the numbers, the true reward was seeing our team come together, united by a common goal and a shared sense of purpose.
A huge thank you to everyone who cheered us on, donated, or joined in spirit. We want to give a special thank you to our title sponsor, Rapenburg Plaza.
